After Prague I've been in Dresden, a city in eastern Germany crossed by the River Elbe. The city is still being reconstructed after the WW2 and it's possible to see a lot of new buildings and a lot of construction sites and restoration of historical buildings. In the past Dresden was the Royal Capital of the Saxon Kingdom. Seeing the architecture it's easy to figure out that it was a very important city some centuries ago. During the German Democratic Republic it was an important industrial center. And since the German reunification in 1990, Dresden has reemerged as a cultural, educational, political and economic centre of Germany.
Interesting is to see the Frauenkirche, which was completely destroyed by the controversial Allied aerial bombing towards the end of World War II, as the whole city. The restoration of the church finished in 2005 and it's possible to see a part of the roof in front of the church.


After Dresden I got a ride to Hamburg, the most populous city in Germany and famous because of the harbour. The city is very beautiful, has a lot of canals that are crossed by over 2300 bridges, more than those of Amsterdam and Venice combined. Actually I would like to write more but the time at the Internet cafe is limited.

Depois de Praga Eu estive em Dresden, uma cidade no leste da Alemanha banhada pelo rio Elba. A cidade ainda está sendo reconstruída após a Segunda guerra mundial e é possível ver uma grande quantidade de novos prédios e um monte de construçoes e restauração de edifícios históricos. Dresden no passado era a capital real do Reino saxão. Vendo a arquitetura é fácil descobrir que era uma cidade muito importante alguns séculos atrás. Durante a República Democrática Alemã (DDR), foi um importante centro industrial. E desde a reunificação alemã em 1990, Dresden ressurgiu como um centro cultural, educativo, político e econômico da Alemanha.
Interessante é ver a Frauenkirche, que foi completamente destruída pelos bombardeios dos Aliados controverso aérea para o fim da II Guerra Mundial, como toda a cidade. A restauração da igreja concluída em 2005, e é possível ver uma parte do telhado na frente.


Depois de Dresden peguei uma carona para Hamburgo, a cidade mais populosa da Alemanha e famosa por causa do porto. A cidade é muito bonita, tem um monte de canais que são atravessados por mais de 2300 pontes, mais do que em Amesterdam e Veneza juntos. Na verdade eu gostaria de escrever mais, mas o tempo no Internet Cafe é limitado.
